Its that time of year again
Shop Local
Greetings - it seems like the snow is reminding us that it is time to plan for the SHOP LOCAL campaign which will start November 25th, 2016. This year, in response to member businesses input, the SHOP LOCAL cards have been altered to be used a little differently. There are ten boxes on each card to be validated, requiring that the card holder visit ten different participating businesses for validation. We hope this will help our business members that are not centrally located, encouraging card holders to visit these shops for validation. No purchase is required for card validation, but we certainly encourage SHOP LOCAL, our businesses need your support to remain viable. Draws will be Dec 3rd, Dec 10th, Dec 17th and Dec 24th, each draw will be for $100 in Chamber Bucks to be redeemed at the participating businesses. We will post participating business locations shortly. The drop barrel will be located at the Visitor Centre. More chances to enter, more chances to win. We hope you will SHOP LOCAL, visit local shops, and enter often.

Part 3 of The Top 10 reasons to move to McBride

3. Travel – McBride is two hours south of Prince George International Airport, on the rail line directly to the Port of Prince Rupert, and six hours to Edmonton. McBride can be your gateway to the rest of the world. Whether you are traveling by rail or road, you can get there from here.

2. Cost – It can be less expensive to live in McBride. Property prices are lower here than many other places, business licenses, taxes and fees all reflect our business friendly attitude. Low cost, high value – the perfect formula for success.

1. Opportunity – there are an abundance of opportunities here in the Valley – for people wanting to start home based businesses, for service businesses, for trades people (plumbing and heating, electricians, mobile mechanic, computer tech, etc, etc) for entrepreneurs, for semi-retired people.
